The final project is designed for students to combine sales and marketing management content learned in this course with knowledge gained from other courses, or personal and/or professional situations. It is expected that you will add to the knowledge gained from the course by selecting an area related to sales and marketing management about which you would like to gain additional knowledge and that is NOT covered in depth in the class, and then delve more deeply into the topic. You should:
Pick a topic of interest to you. E-mail the instructor for approval of your topic – See Week 7 Assignments for details;
Investigate the existing body of knowledge related to the topic finding at least 5 scholarly sources related to your topic;
Critically analyze and relate your findings to the topics covered as part of the course;
Create a simple scenario where the topic area you choose can be practically applied and then;
Apply your new topic knowledge to your created scenario.
Submit your COMPLETED paper by August 20, 2022 AT THE LATEST to the D2L Submission Folder.
IMPORTANT: Topic areas must be approved by the instructor. The assignment due date is August 20, 2022. ALL work must be submitted by the end of the quarter to be eligible for any points.
As a general comment, please become acquainted with the requirements for writing academic papers, APA formatting, using references and citations, grammar and building an academic argument. A portion of your grade on this assignment will be based on your level of APA compliance. Also remember that for an academic paper you might be an expert but you are not allowed to put yourself out there as the expert. You must build your argument (case) using the works of others (your sources from above). It is difficult to do sometimes, especially when it is an area that you know a lot about, but it is needed for scholarly work. You will run into this more as you work your way through the DePaul program so you might as well start developing this talent now. The DePaul writing center is an excellent resource to help you with this.
General Paper Guidelines
Your paper should be at least 6 pages long and not more than 10 pages long, not including the cover page, references, etc. Use APA formatting for the text, margins, line spacing, in-text citations, etc. This means 1-inch margins all around, 12-pt type and double spacing (just to get you started).

Use the following section heading flow to get you started:
Cover sheet
Abstract – A 200 word or less summary of your overall paper
Introduction – Here you can explain how your professional, educational or personal experiences brought this topic to your attention. Your reason for choosing this topic would be included here.
Literature Review – Existing body of knowledge (BOK) about your topic where you use the work of others to build and support your final argument about your topic. Here is where you will need to include in-text citations with APA formatting correctly applied.
Relationship of your topic to the rest of the class topics – Here is where you critically evaluate how the topic you chose relates to other course topics (or not).
Practical application of your topic to a created scenario
Describe the scenario
Describe how your topic applies to this scenario
In some detail describe how you would apply your topic to the scenario
How helpful would your topic be in managing risk for your scenario?
Reflection on your topic and this project – Here again you can discuss your personal impression about the topic, sales and marketing management, etc.

References
You are encouraged to pick a topic area that has practical relevance to your studies, your work or something related to your personal life. You have worked all quarter to have the background to complete this assignment. Have fun putting it all to work!
1. What is the sales and/or marketing management related topic idea you wish to investigate?
I would like to investigate Instagram’s approach to advertisement.
2. Why did you pick this idea? If it is covered in the class materials, how would what you investigate differ from what was already covered?
I picked this idea because I feel that instagram does a great job in advertising products that I am interested in and would like the process behind it.

How social media platforms establish what a user would like to potentially be sold and what products they are interested in.
